World Press Photo Exhibition

The World Press Photo Exhibition in Amsterdam displays the winning results of the World Press Photo contest. The winners were chosen by an independent jury that reviewed more than 78,801 photographs entered by 4,738 photographers from 129 countries.

Since 1955, World Press Photo has become known for holding an annual press photography contest and has since then further developed into focusing on journalistic multimedia productions in association with Human Rights Watch.

The World Press Photo Exhibition in Amsterdam is held each spring in De Nieuwe Kerk. We feature it because it consistently offers photographers inspiration for extraordinary storytelling images.

2025 Dates: 18 April – 21 September 2025 at De Nieuwe Kerk. See full details at the official site: worldpressphoto.org (additional venue info: de nieuwe kerk)
