On Saturday 1st of November 50 Amsterdam Museums are open from 7PM until 2AM for the annual- this time 15th. Museum Night. Apart from seeing the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions there is plenty more to see and do, also for non-Dutch visitors. On this 15th edition you can enjoy live music, DJ’s, dance, performances, film, special tours, food & drinks in the many museums of the city. For the Museum Night you buy a ticket, which gives you entrance to 50 museums, free use of all GVB buses and trams and 1 free museum visit valid until December 31st 2014.
While searching for the best fitting program, have a look at some of the 10 routes prepared around various themes. How about following “LIGHT IN THE DARK”, where you Go to Eye Museum for a walk through light projections, smoke and fog during the exhibition of Anthony McCall. Spend your night in the Artis Planetarium in which you travel through space and then maybe take part in the experiment with light and composition. At Rijksmuseum front hall there will be an hourly workshop- where you have your portrait painted by the eyes of the 17th-century master! Because if Rembrandt had been a photographer his photographs probably looked like this.
