Amsterdam is perfect for street photography—not only because of its canals, markets, and traditional brick houses, but also for its industrial areas with graffiti walls and urban waterfronts.
Field Trip Experience
Participants spend an afternoon around magic hour on the streets, practicing hands-on photography exercises in a supportive group. The field trip focuses on applying street photography techniques in real-world settings, building confidence, learning lighting, and developing an eye for storytelling.
What you’ll learn on the Shoot
- Experiment with composition to emphasize what’s important and guide the viewer’s eye.
- Work with the direction of light to create dramatic effects, especially during magic hour.
- Make connections between street elements to tell a story
This field trip is a highlight of our Photography Basics Course, which combines hands-on photography exercises in every class with guidance and support to help you grow as a photographer.
