Join us on Sunday, August 18th, as we organise a visit to the exhibition ‘Silver Lake Drive’ in FOAM by American artist Alex Prager. Her work is centred around: cinematic, drawing inspiration from her surroundings, personal experiences, street photography, pop culture and film. Through the use of saturated colours and familiar imagery, Prager creates her unique world where she explores darker topics in a seductive and unsettling way. Prager’s work is rooted in the photographic tradition of William Eggleston, Diane Arbus and Cindy Sherman. Further, her oeuvre consists of heavily staged large format images using vibrant colours.
Workshop
We offer you an exhibition tour guided by a FOAM professional and the opportunity to shoot images in Prager’s style in the FOAM studios during a workshop. Bring your own camera with you, or use one of the Olympus camera’s offered by the venue. Your best image will be printed you can take your own ‘Prager’ home.
